Blue Monkey is an independent Nottinghamshire brewery established in 2008. Brewing a broad range of cask and modern craft beers, it has won more than 100 national awards and operates its own pubs alongside a brewery taproom, shop and brewery tours at its Giltbrook home.
Brewery story
Blue Monkey was established in 2008 with a 10-barrel brewing plant. Growing demand led the brewery to move to larger premises in Giltbrook in 2010, from where it developed a wide range spanning pale ales, stouts, dark ruby ales and Black IPAs and built distribution across local outlets and further afield.
The brewery expanded its packaging capabilities in 2022 with the installation of its own canning line, supporting a growing range of keg and canned craft beers alongside its established cask production. Blue Monkey has received more than 100 national awards and has also expanded into spirits, producing its own range of gins and rums.
In 2026, Blue Monkey opened a taproom, shop and function space alongside its working brewery. The taproom serves beer directly from the source across ten keg and eight cask lines and hosts food and regular events, while brewery tours give visitors a closer look at production. Blue Monkey also operates its Organ Grinder pubs across the region.
