Brewery story

About Moor Beer Company

Moor Beer has been brewing distinctive, characterful beer since 2005. Originally founded in Somerset, the brewery entered a new chapter when it was reborn under new ownership and relocated to Bristol, bringing with it a clear philosophy: brew beer the way it should be. That commitment to quality and authenticity has remained at the heart of the brewery ever since.

Long before hazy beer became a global trend, Moor Beer was pioneering the naturally hazy beer movement in the UK. Since 2007, every beer has been brewed unfined, allowing natural proteins, yeast and hop compounds to remain in the finished product. This approach not only preserves flavour and aroma but also makes every beer vegan-friendly and true to the brewery's belief that less intervention creates a better pint.

At the core of Moor Beer’s brewing philosophy is the concept of live beer. Rather than relying on heavy filtration or processing, its beers are naturally conditioned with live yeast, creating fuller flavour, improved body and greater character. This dedication to traditional brewing methods, combined with a willingness to challenge convention, has helped establish Moor Beer as one of Bristol's most respected independent breweries.

Today, Moor Beer continues to brew from its Bristol home, producing a diverse range of beers that combine modern brewing innovation with traditional values. Whether it's a crisp lager, a hop-forward pale ale or a rich stout, every beer reflects the brewery's enduring mission: to brew honestly, respect the ingredients and create beers full of flavour, body and soul.
