About Rivington Brewing
Rivington Brewing Co. was founded in 2014 by Ben Stubbs and Mike Richardson after the pair began homebrewing together using a simple plastic brewing kit. What started as an experiment for Mike's wedding quickly developed into a passion for creating modern, flavour-led beers inspired by breweries from around the world.
Based at Home Farm near Rivington Pike in Lancashire, the brewery has grown steadily through organic expansion and strong local support. Today it operates a 20-hectolitre brewhouse producing around 2,500 hectolitres of beer each year, alongside a dedicated barrel ageing programme that continues to broaden its range.
Although best known for its hazy pale ales and IPAs, including the flagship Never Known Fog Like It, Rivington brews a diverse selection of lagers, stouts, fruited sours and mixed fermentation beers. The brewery focuses on freshness, balance and continual improvement across every style.
In 2019, Rivington opened its brewery taproom and campsite overlooking Lower Rivington Reservoir. The venue has become a destination for craft beer enthusiasts, serving fresh beer alongside rotating street food vendors while hosting regular events throughout the year.
Community remains central to the brewery's philosophy. Alongside producing beer, Rivington supports walking, cycling and running groups that bring people together throughout the year. In 2023, the brewery also introduced a four-day working week, reflecting its commitment to employee wellbeing and the belief that great beer is built by a strong and motivated team.
While drawing inspiration from brewing traditions across the world, Rivington Brewing Co. remains firmly rooted in Lancashire, continuing to produce modern beers for its local community while earning recognition across the UK's craft beer scene.
