Brewery story
Supercute began as a tiny bar in Brixton Market, where a space accommodating just eight people became known for its music, dancing and lively atmosphere. Despite its modest size, the bar developed a distinctive identity built around fun, creativity and bringing people together. This playful approach eventually inspired the business to expand beyond serving beer and begin producing its own, combining its established bar culture with a growing enthusiasm for independent brewing.
In 2024, Supercute acquired the former Friendship Adventure brewery at Coldharbour Works in Loughborough Junction. The site, housed beneath railway arches on Coldharbour Lane, was renamed Supercute Brewhouse and became the production home for the brand's beers. The acquisition allowed Supercute to develop its own range of keg beers while retaining a direct connection with customers through the existing onsite taproom. Its brewing identity reflects the same colourful, unconventional character that helped establish the original Brixton bar.
Supercute operates two venues in South London: the brewhouse and taproom at Coldharbour Works, and its Brixton Market bar at 5 Market Row. The brewery taproom offers a changing selection of keg beers, accompanied by popcorn, music and events, while the Market Row venue continues the intimate, energetic atmosphere associated with the business's beginnings. Supercute does not produce cask ale, focusing instead on keg beer and the social experience surrounding its venues.
The brewery has also developed a connection with Harlem Brewing Company in New York, with some of the American brewery's beers produced at the London site. The Harlem name has additionally appeared at the former Friendship Adventure bar in Brixton Market, reflecting the relationship between the two businesses. Through its combination of brewing, independent bars and international collaboration, Supercute continues to bring its distinctive personality to South London's beer scene.
