Ampersand Brew Co

Ampersand Brew Co was founded in 2017 by family team Amy, Andy and Adrian Hipwell, who began brewing in a converted barn on their family farm in South Norfolk. Sharing a passion for modern beer and high-quality ingredients, they set out to create a brewery focused on producing the beers they genuinely wanted to drink, combining traditional brewing knowledge with a progressive approach to recipe development.

From the beginning, Ampersand embraced small-batch brewing, allowing every beer to receive the attention and care needed to showcase both the ingredients and the brewery's technical expertise. Rather than chasing trends, the team focused on building a range of core and seasonal beers that reflected balance, quality and drinkability while continually refining their brewing process.

As the brewery grew, Ampersand relocated in 2021 from the family farm to a dedicated brewery in Diss, on the Norfolk–Suffolk border. The move provided room for a bespoke brewing system designed specifically around the brewery's production methods, giving greater control over quality while allowing the team to expand its range without compromising the small-batch philosophy that had defined the brewery from the outset.

Today, Ampersand Brew Co continues to brew from its home in Diss, producing modern beers that showcase carefully selected ingredients, thoughtful brewing techniques and a commitment to consistency. Guided by the simple philosophy of brewing the best possible version of the beers they love to drink, Amy, Andy and Adrian have built a brewery recognised for quality, creativity and a passion for independent brewing.
