Brewery story
Bini Brew Co. was founded in 2020 by father-and-son duo Nick and James, who shared a passion for hop-forward, hazy and flavourful craft beers. Their brewing journey began with a small ten-litre homebrewing kit, allowing them to experiment with recipes, ingredients and techniques while developing their own approach to beer. What started as a shared family interest gradually evolved into an independent microbrewery in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. From the beginning, the pair wanted to produce beers with distinctive personalities, combining carefully developed flavours with creative presentation. Their approach was influenced by family, music and design, with each beer intended to tell its own story rather than simply follow established conventions.
During its early years, Bini established itself in Ilkley, developing a range of small-batch beers that reflected the founders' enthusiasm for modern brewing styles. Hazy, hop-forward beers became central to its identity, with an emphasis on flavour, character and experimentation. After approximately three years in its original hometown, the brewery relocated to Leeds, marking a new stage in its development. The move allowed the business to continue building its brewing operation while maintaining the creative philosophy established by Nick and James. Throughout this period, Bini remained closely associated with its Yorkshire roots and the communities that supported its development.
Community has always played an important role in Bini's identity. Beyond producing beer, the founders wanted to create welcoming spaces where customers could discover new releases, meet other beer enthusiasts and become part of the brewery's story. Its taproom offering developed alongside the brewing business, creating opportunities to serve beers directly to customers and strengthen the connection between the brewery and its audience. Bini's beers also reflect the founders' wider interests, drawing inspiration from music, family experiences and creative expression. This combination of modern brewing, distinctive branding and personal storytelling has helped shape the brewery's character and distinguish its beers within the independent craft beer scene.
In 2025, Bini returned to Ilkley, establishing a new brewery and taproom at 25 Little Lane, just a short walk from the town centre. The move brought production and hospitality together in a bright, welcoming space designed to showcase the brewery's beers and provide a gathering place for the local community. The taproom features ten draught lines dedicated to Bini beers, complemented by wines, cocktails, snacks and regular visiting street food traders. Families and dogs are welcome, contributing to its relaxed atmosphere. Today, Bini continues to focus on producing small-batch, hop-forward beers while celebrating the town where its journey began. Its return to Ilkley represents an important milestone for a family-founded brewery built around creativity, flavour and community.
