Atom

Atom Brewing Co was founded in Hull in 2014 by Allan Rice and Sarah Thackray, building the brewery around the idea that brewing is both an art and a science. Its approach combines technical precision with experimentation, producing everything from approachable core beers to hop-forward specials.

The brewery has produced hundreds of beers across cask, keg and can, with all of its beers vegan-friendly, unfined and unfiltered. During the pandemic Atom invested in its own canning line, allowing the team to handle brewing and packaging in-house and gain greater control over quality and freshness.

Science and education have remained important parts of Atom's identity, including work with local colleges and brewing classes. In 2025 the brewery was purchased by Fresh Brewing Inc, beginning a new chapter for the Hull-based business while retaining the Atom name and its science-led approach to brewing.
