Sheffield brewery established in 2020 and named in tribute to the city's historic cutlery and tool-making craftsmen. Little Mesters produces cask, keg and canned beer, moving to larger premises at Solpro Business Park in 2025 while operating Mesters Tap in Woodseats.
Brewery story
Little Mesters Brewing was established in Sheffield in 2020, taking its name from the city's celebrated industrial heritage. The original Little Mesters were skilled, independent craftsmen who worked in small workshops producing cutlery and tools, becoming an important part of Sheffield's reputation for metalworking and manufacturing.
The brewery began operating from the former Mitchells Hop House site, producing beers in cask, keg and can. Its name reflects a connection to Sheffield's tradition of specialist craftsmanship, bringing that local identity into the city's modern brewing scene.
In 2025 Little Mesters moved to new premises at Solpro Business Park on Windsor Street, investing in additional brewing equipment to support production. The move marked a new stage in the brewery's development while keeping it firmly rooted in Sheffield.
Beyond the brewhouse, Little Mesters operates Mesters Tap in Woodseats, giving drinkers a dedicated place to enjoy its beers. Together, the brewery and taproom connect Sheffield's brewing community with the city's longstanding tradition of independent makers.
