Sheffield microbrewery established at the Wisewood Inn, producing traditional and modern cask and keg beers using natural spring water. Loxley has six regular cask ales alongside changing specials, with its beers served across its own pubs and a growing number of local free houses.
Brewery story
The story behind Loxley Brewery began in 2015 when local entrepreneur Stephen Wesley bought The Wisewood Inn with the aim of creating a community pub centred around good beer and food. Once the pub was established, attention turned to an idea that had been there from the start — brewing its own beer.
The old garage beneath the pub was rebuilt as a modern five-barrel brewery capable of producing traditional cask ales, contemporary keg beers and bottle-conditioned beer. Loxley began brewing in 2018, using natural spring water and developing six regular cask beers alongside an ever-changing selection of specials.
From its beginnings beneath a Sheffield pub, Loxley's beers have spread across the city and surrounding area, with more than 30 pubs supplied. The brewery also has an onsite bottling plant and its beers are served across its own venues: The Wisewood Inn, The Raven Inn and No.3 Sharrow.
