Independent brewery on the edge of the Pennines near Halifax, combining traditional Yorkshire brewing with modern technology. Its bespoke 10-barrel brewhouse produces a range spanning traditional ales, blonde beers, lagers and pilsners.
Brewery story
Stod Fold takes its name from its secluded home on the edge of the Pennines, a site that has been inhabited for more than 500 years. Surrounded by the rugged landscape of Brontë Country, the brewery occupies a renovated farm building that brings together the area's history with a distinctly modern approach to brewing.
Founders Paul and Angus designed and built the brewery themselves around a determination not to compromise on quality. The result was a bespoke, oversized 10-barrel brewhouse using computer-controlled equipment to give brewer and microbiologist Dr Paul Harris precise control over the brewing process.
That combination of traditional techniques and modern brewing technology shapes Stod Fold's range. Beers stretch from classic Yorkshire-style Gold and Amber ales to Blonde and Pils, with the brewery supplying pubs predominantly across Yorkshire and its beers also available at the Stod Fold Brewery Tap in Halifax.
