Ilkley Brewery

Ilkley Brewery was established in 2009, reviving commercial brewing in a town whose brewing heritage stretches back to an earlier Ilkley brewery founded in 1873. From its West Yorkshire home, the modern brewery developed a broad range led by flagship beer Mary Jane, combining an appreciation of local brewing history with an emphasis on hops, quality and experimentation.

The brewery grew to distribute its beers throughout the UK and into European markets, while remaining based at its Ashlands Road site in Ilkley. Its approach centres on quality and consistency alongside continuing development of new beers, supported by longstanding relationships with suppliers including Simpsons Malt and Charles Faram.

Following a challenging period, Ilkley Brewery entered an administration process in 2025 before local businessman Graham Smith agreed an investment deal that secured the brewery and retained all 11 jobs. Brewing continued in Ilkley, with the existing management team led by Luke Raven and Jonny Moore remaining in place. Ilkley continues as a standalone business, with investment planned for its brewing facilities, sales and marketing while The Ilkley Tap remains part of its local presence.
