Independent family-owned brewery established in Snaith in 1983. Based in an 18th-century former corn mill and maltings, Old Mill brews traditional real ales for its estate of pubs, the free trade and customers across the UK.
Brewery story
Old Mill Brewery was established in 1983 in Snaith, East Yorkshire, taking over an 18th-century former corn mill and maltings with more than two centuries of history behind its walls. From this historic setting, the family-owned brewery set out to revive the traditions of the independent regional brewer.
Over the following decades, Old Mill developed into an established Yorkshire brewery with a 60-barrel brew length and its own estate of pubs across the county. Its beers are also supplied to the free trade and distributed nationally, while continued investment in modern brewing equipment and quality assurance has helped the brewery grow without losing its traditional character.
That connection with traditional brewing extends beyond the brewhouse. Old Mill operates its own fleet of drays to deliver beer directly to pubs, including a horse-drawn dray that provides a rare link to the way regional breweries once transported their beer.
