Ossett Brewery

Ossett Brewery was established in 1998 and has grown from small beginnings into one of Yorkshire's best-known independent breweries. Cask beer remains central to the brewery, combining traditional brewing heritage with a progressive approach to developing its beers.

The business expanded beyond brewing with the formation of Ossett Pub Company in 2003, which has grown to more than 30 venues across Yorkshire. The wider group also includes Yorkshire breweries Rat, Riverhead and SALT.

White Rat, launched in 2011, became one of Ossett's defining beers. The 4% hoppy pale ale was notably hop-forward for cask beer at the time and grew to around five million pints a year. Rat has since developed into a wider range spanning cask, keg and cans.

Today, Ossett continues to combine its cask brewing heritage with modern beer styles and formats, remaining independently owned after more than a quarter of a century of brewing in Yorkshire.
