Brewery story

About Wilde Child Brewing Co

The story of Wilde Child Brewing began in 2010 when founder Keir started making beer at home with little more than plastic buckets, steriliser, hosepipe and a malt extract kit. It wasn't long before he moved into all-grain brewing, investing in more capable equipment and beginning to experiment with his own recipes.

Encouraged by the reaction of friends and family to his early beers, Keir decided that brewing was what he wanted to pursue professionally. He spent the following years developing his skills in his garage before moving into commercial brewing, gaining valuable experience working with two of the region's most awarded breweries.

Keir originally set himself a five-year goal of establishing his own brewery, but his growing passion for beer and desire to develop his own recipes accelerated those plans. Three years ahead of his intended schedule, he took the leap and established Wilde Child Brewing Co.

Today, Wilde Child is based on Armley Road in Leeds and produces a broad range of flavour-led beers. Its output spans hop-forward IPAs and pale ales alongside stouts, seasonal specials and limited releases, continuing the creativity and experimentation that began with Keir's earliest homebrews.
